What is in your water?

CALCIUM

is a naturally occurring mineral which is necessary for the human health. It is considered one of the six essential minerals. Calcium must be incorporated into the diet from outside sources, such as dairy products, different varieties of fish and green, leafy vegetables like spinach and broccoli.

AQUA Carpatica Natural Sparkling Mineral Water, in particular, has a high calcium content, providing almost 40% of the NHS’s recommended daily amount for adults per litre. AQUA Carpatica Natural Still Mineral Water has a lower calcium content (45.8 mg/L), but enough to make a valuable contribution to daily calcium intake for every two litres consumed.

MAGNESIUM

is a dietary mineral, categorised among the alkaline earth metals. Magnesium plays a central role in healthy metabolic, muscular, and cardiovascular performance.

AQUA Carpatica Natural Sparkling Mineral Water provides 26% of the NHS’s recommended daily amount of magnesium for adults per litre.

SODIUM

is one of the chemical elements found in salt. Salt, also known by its chemical name, Sodium Chloride, is a crystalline compound that is abundant in nature and is used to flavour and preserve food. The NHS recommends limiting daily sodium intake to 2,400 milligrams (one teaspoon of salt) per day, because too much sodium can lead to high blood pressure, heart disease and stroke. Salt intakes should be much lower for babies and children.

AQUA Carpatica Still and Sparkling Mineral Waters are both naturally low in sodium .

What is natural sparkling mineral water?

Naturally sparkling mineral waters like AQUA Carpatica, derive from select mineral water springs with natural emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) and significant mineral salt content, (e.g. calcium carbonate CaCO3) , magnesium carbonate MgCO3), from the geological structures that surround the source. In volcanic aquifers where mofette CO2 is present, CO2combines with water, creating a natural sparkling mineral water.

Drinking naturally sparkling mineral water, with natural bicarbonates, neutralises excessive gastric acidity, stimulates digestion and metabolism, and delivers natural electrolytes to the body. Other benefits include the prevention of kidney stones and neutralization of lactic acid generated during physical activity.

Naturally Sparkling Mineral Water is not the same as soda water.
When it comes to health, they act differently on the body.

Conversely, artificially carbonated soda waters contain no natural electrolytes (HCO3). The artificial addition of CO2 can create a harsh digestive system environment by generating carbonic acid in the stomach. This increases gastric acidity, which may ultimately lead to ulcers, acid reflux, hypertension and other conditions. Artificially carbonated water may also have a bitter, metallic or sour aftertaste.

The artificial addition of CO2 can create a harsh environment throughout the digestive system by generating Carbonic Acid in the stomach.

AQUA Carpatica Still Mineral Water
is

naturally alkaline

The high pH (8.0) of AQUA Carpatica Natural Still Mineral Water
makes it naturally alkaline, due to the presence of bicarbonate ions derived from the aquifer of the spring.
